Description

Key Responsibilities:
1. Use CAM software to program, set-up, and operate CNC milling and turning machines.
2. Create manufacturing directions or instructions consisting of CAD models and drawings.
3. Work from solid models, technical drawings, engineering sketches to produce a variety of prototype and production parts.
4. Choose the most efficient methods of manufacture, the time and equipment required.
5. Work closely with technicians and engineers to suggest design improvements for manufacturability.
6. Work with tolerances of (.10 mm) in most cases.
7. Set up and operate manual mills and lathes with a high degree of proficiency.
8. Analyze written specifications, drawings, sketches, and verbal instructions to determine operation sequences.
9. Verify part conformance using machinist's measuring instruments.
10. Develop and maintain supportive relationships with technicians, designers, and engineers.
11. Must be able to interrogate models and assemblies and working on one-off parts.
12. Create process plans for tooling (fixtures, gauges) including designs and work instructions. 13. Inspection techniques and methods from knowledge of SPC (Statistical Process Control) and GDT (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
14. Participate in troubleshoot design quality issues by engaging in Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, NPD processes and tooling.
15. To perform any other task assigned by the management from time to time.

Job Specifications:
• Advanced skills with CAM software, and CNC machine programming, setup and operation.
• Expertise calculating machine cycle times, determining cost effective operation sequences, machinability and feasibility.
• Comprehensive understanding of milling and turning.
• Detailed functional knowledge of machine shop tools and machineries.
• Able to work at a fast pace in a constantly changing environment with tight deadlines.
