Qualifications & experience
Educational Background:
A diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA (or in progress) are an advantage.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., MYOB, QuickBooks, or similar).
Strong Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis and reporting.
Knowledge:
Understanding of Malaysian financial regulations, accounting standards, and tax laws.
Familiarity with construction industry accounting practices is a plus.
Work Experience:
Typically, 1-3 years of experience in an accounting role, preferably in the construction industry.
Exposure to accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions..
Project-Based Experience:
Experience in working with project budgets, cost tracking, and financial reporting related to construction projects.

Financial Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate financial records, including ledgers and journals.
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements and reports.
Invoice Management:
Process and verify invoices from suppliers and subcontractors.
Ensure timely payment of invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
Budget Monitoring:
Assist in the preparation and monitoring of project budgets.
Track project expenses and provide reports to management.
Payroll Processing:
Assist in payroll preparation, ensuring compliance with local labor laws.
Maintain employee records and update payroll information as needed.
Financial Reconciliation:
Conduct regular bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of accounts.
Assist in reconciling project costs and variances.
Tax Compliance:
Support the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
Maintain records necessary for tax audits.
Data Entry and Reporting:
Input financial data into accounting software and ensure data integrity.
Generate regular financial reports for project managers and stakeholders.
Cost Control:
Assist in monitoring and controlling project costs.
Provide financial analysis to support project decision-making.
Audit Support:
Prepare documentation and assist during internal and external audits.
Address audit queries and implement recommended improvements.
Communication and Collaboration:
Liaise with project managers, suppliers, and other departments regarding financial matters.
