• Minimum of any primary form of education, or

• Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia.

• Experience working in a hospital setting is an advantage.

• Able to converse English language and Bahasa Malaysia.

• Have interpersonal and communication skills.

• Caring, honest, and responsible worker.

• Willingness to work on scheduled hours, shifts and weekends, public holidays and any time called during an emergency.

1) GENERAL DESCRIPTION Provide essential patient care by Nursing Services’ policies, cultivate respectful relationships with all hospital stakeholders and promptly notify relevant nursing authorities of any incidents requiring their attention.

2) JOB DESCRIPTION

Organization & Management

• Provide basic nursing care that aligns with the vision, mission, philosophy, goals, and objectives of the nursing services and the hospital.

• Notifies the unit manager of any changes in the situation that could impact the standards of care.

• Accompany patients to other services for diagnostic procedures, physiotherapy, and outpatient clinics, and fetch them back patients for uncomplicated cases.

• Attends meetings held by the services to discuss issues and matters about the operation of the service.

Perform daily routine: 

• Conducts regular nursing rounds to assess patients’ needs and communicate with them and their families.

• Keeps the ward, store, fridge, and its facilities clean and tidy.

• Answer phone calls and relay messages.

• Attendants to patients call the bell promptly.

• Assists nurses in transporting patients to and from the operating theatre.

• Escorts patients to other services for diagnostic tests and from the ward to other areas upon discharge.

• Dispatches specimens to the laboratory and collects results.Collect pharmacy and surgical supplies from pharmacy and the store as required to maintain adequate stock levels for operations.

• Send out portable oxygen tanks for refilling or exchange, ensuring a continuous supply for emergency needs.

• Records the daily charges for the items used in the ward and updates the patients’ charges accordingly.

Human Resource & Development

• Accountable for personal and professional growth and keeps up to date with professional change by maintaining mandatory learning hours.

• Maintain the record of personal leave and training attended. 

Policies & Procedure

• Adhere to the hospital's policies and nursing code of conduct, ensuring patient confidentiality and standard infection control practices are upheld.

Facilities & Equipment

• Assist the trained staff in managing the proper storage, condition, and availability of biomedical equipment in the unit, maintaining a sufficient supply of ward stock, and maintaining accurate records for equipment, medical supplies, and consumable item specimen collections. 

Safety & Quality Improvement Activities 

• Participate in new services, comply with 5S activities, and patient safety policies, and adhere to ISO, MSQH, JCI, PSG, BFHI, and NNA, ensure compliance with patient safety goals, and occupational safety measures.

• Adhere to the Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 2022, take reasonable care at work, cooperate with employers, wear proper PPE, and follow all safety and health instructions and measures.
