Forklift Driver

Forklift operators drive around forklifts (shocker, we know), moving materials around warehouse,
storage yards, factories, construction sites and other work sites. The machine itself has a hydraulic
lifting mechanism, and forks for moving heavy and large objects. Most forklift drivers work 8-hour
(or longer) shifts. In place where customers are around, most forklift work is done after hours.
Operating a forklift is considered a “hazardous occupation”, according to the Fair Labor Standards
Act.

RESPONSIBILITIES & SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. To operate the forklift according to operating manual.
2. To ensure the forklift and trailer are always clean and safe for use.
3. Responsible to perform daily maintenance of the forklift according to checklist.
4. To inform superior whenever the forklift malfunction.
5. Work performed are to priority and importance.
6. Responsible to deliver and transfer packaging materials, semi-finish and finished goods to
and from following locations:-
Responsible to transport and arrange contract cartons in Irradiation department.
• Packing departments
• Irradiation
• Finished Goods Warehouse
• Production
7. The goods or products shall be delivered in the prescribed in the prescribed manner to
ensure goods or product integrity is not affected and these are stacked orderly and safely.
8. Responsible to transport and arrange contract cartons in Irradiation department
9. To transport and deliver empty pallets to the designated place in the following
departments:-
• Packing
• Irradiation
• Finished Goods Warehouse
• Production
10. Broken, dirty or contaminated pallets shall be segregated and superior informed as soon as
possible.
11. To ensure that the finished goods are in good order; do not fall and get damaged or wetted
during transportation.
12. Products shall be stored in a clean, safe and dry environment.
13. During free hours, required to be at any Surgical Packing area and to report to the respective
Senior Supervisor or seek advice on work matters. Do not wander off to other departments.
14. To attend training sessions arranged by the company.
15. Adhere to instructions given by superior.
16. To report to superior in cases where company property is damaged during driving of forklift.
17. To report to immediate superior immediately on problems pertaining to equipment.
18. To follow the company’s Safety & Health rules and policy
19. Understand the company’s Quality Policy.
20. To understand the implications of improper job performance.
21. To know the company’s GMP, Hygiene rules and other do’s & don’ts.
22. To take proper care when using the toilets and other facilities provided.
23. To understand and comply to SOPs related to assigned tasks.
24. To obey company rules and regulations, disciplinary procedures and any general instructions
issued by the management from time to time.
25. To maintain a high standard of housekeeping at the work area.
26. To segregate and report incidences pertaining to carton conditions such as improper carton
staking, damaged to cartons, etc.
27. To perform any other tasks assigned by superior/management.
