Marketing Manager

DealStreetAsia is looking for someone to drive subscription growth, improve customer loyalty and increase brand awareness of our suite of news and related data products. This role will be responsible for delighting and acquiring customers across paid, owned and earned channels. You will engage with subscription, partner content, events and newsletter marketing. You should be data-driven and have the ability to turn qualitative and quantitative data into insightful action plans and strategies. The ideal candidate will be passionate about journalism and the company’s mission of building a world-class media organization powered by our subscribers. Since 2014, we have grown from strength to strength starting with a free newsletter and moving from traditional advertising to a paid subscription model. As the marketing manager, you drive to derive customer insights to inform ROI positive campaigns. DESCRIPTION OF ROLE You will help guide our brand in several verticals (subscriptions, events, partner content) and ensure that we are seen as news worth paying for. We expect you to obsess over our audience to understand their motivations and pain-points. You will interact with our editorial team to highlight the best ways to serve our audiences. You are expected to be familiar with our content so that you can have the perspective of our most discerning readers. You will constantly sample our stories, white papers, events and emails and share data-driven insights to help you develop nuanced marketing strategies. You will work with our database to ensure high quality data to improve campaign performance. You will operate at the intersection of various touchpoints and will interface with tech, editorial, sales design and events teams. To that end, you will help build end-to-end campaigns from awareness through activation. You will help with our marketing collaterals that are internally as well as externally facing. Your main activity will be to test-learn-act-repeat. EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES

• Min 5 years experience; agency or in-house a plus
• Proven track record of successful B2B and brand marketing campaigns
• Data driven with strong analytical skills and familiarity with relevant analytics platforms, customer insight tools
• In-depth knowledge of various marketing channels and technologies, including, but not limited to performance marketing, paid search, retargeting, social media, SEO, email, out-of-home, events
• Previous experience building effective engagement, retention and referrals into media products
• Strong copywriting skills to write compelling headlines and blog content
• Eye for good design. Basic understanding of UI and UX
• Working knowledge of buyer journey management across owned/earned media
• Experience with best-in-class lead generation and account based management
• 3rd party vendor management experience; media/ad/adtech agencies
