Our work to alleviate hunger is focused through a lens of increasing access to nutritious food and improving the diet quality of people experiencing hunger. SHFB recognizes that it has a central role to play in the health and wellness of the Central Florida community, where epidemic rates of chronic disease and skyrocketing healthcare costs make access to healthy food a critical factor for improved health. SHFBs ability to provide Medically Tailored Meals is possible thanks to our onsite Mercy Kitchen. The newly designed space features an expanded production kitchen, a cooler and freezer area, ample dry storage space, and six receiving and distribution bays to support our daily operations. The upgraded facility enabled SHFB to distribute over 6.5 million meals throughout the region during the pandemic, a 382% increase compared to our pre-pandemic distribution of 1.7 million meals annually. We also utilize the space to prepare meals for Orange County Head Start, 4Cs, local charter schools and medically tailored meals which serve as earned income revenue streams for SHFB.Work HoursMonday-Friday 8:00am-4:00pm. Occasional weekends or nightsJob SummaryDirector of Medially Tailored Meals has oversight of client services, healthcare partnerships, nutrition, kitchen, meal packaging and delivery.Job Responsibilities1. Manage strategic direction of MTM program2. Initiate and set goals for programs according to the strategic objectives of the organization3. Oversee logistic operation and software selection for best last mile delivery service and efficiency.4. Work with Executive Chef and Registered Dietician Nutritionist to ensure menus are compliant and customer approved.5. Monitor budget to keep cost in line with requirements6. Oversee the execution of client services including client surveys and satisfaction7. Work with Director of Advocacy and Government Relations to advocate for more broad coverage of MTM8. Manage and foster healthcare partnerships by networking and negotiating effectively, in positively influencing community partners9. Lead and develop staff to ensure high quality service delivery that aligns with our values and goals in addition to meeting state and local guidelines10. Actively look for funding resources within the healthcare environment11. Review and assist in updating policies and procedures as program develops and grows. 12. Coordinate, schedule and facilitate meetings and trainings with staff to discuss latest issues, concerns, procedure changes new business and continued development of program.13. Oversee tracking and performance of outcomes and distributes appropriate reports to various department and personnel.14. Project a positive and motivated attitude amongst all associates.15. Knowledge, Skills, Education and Experience Required Bachelors Degree in business administration, public administration, nonprofit management, social work, sociology, or a similar academic field
Minimum four years of directly related work experience in one or more of the following areas: social services, healthcare, logistics, or government
Minimum four years of directly managing people
Combination of education and/or experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience directly relates to the position
Proven experience networking and building community relationships/partnerships
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office
Ability to effectively communicate across various audiences both written and verbally; effectively give presentations to various audiences
Ability to demonstrate strong time management and appropriate delegation of tasks to team members
Ability to effectively lead and motivate team member in order to achieve goals
Ability to take the initiative when needed, self-motivate, while bringing forth creative and innovative ideas.
Ability to work in a fast paced and diverse environment
Must be able to demonstrate appropriate mechanical and technical skills needed for the position
Desired Skills and/or Certifications Experience advocating for Medicaid and/or Medicare for medically tailored meals
