1. Responsible to the Head of Ship Building & Ship Repair in managing the day-to-day ship building and ship repair activities.
2. Manage and organize survey with production units or subcontractors whenever requested by customer, identify and propose new work orders to the client.
3. Allocate appropriate man-hours for each job requirement, decide and allocate appropriate overtime duties for workers, to mitigate in order to achieve and maintain timely and cost effective work schedule according to MRS.
4. Responsible for the preparation of correct and complete instruction of process and disposition of materials required for the tasks/jobs undertaken under your responsibility, as and when allocate to you by your immediate superior.
5. Provide technical support in term of knowledge and expertise to production units. Conduct training pertinent to relevant personnel to upgrade knowledge.
6. Responsible to prepare Planning and Scheduling by using proper software program such as Microsoft Project for any ship building and ship repair projects.
7. Oversee and monitor the progress of project implementation and identify mitigation plan if required to meet the planned schedule. Frequent reporting on work progress status to Head of ship building & ship repair either verbally, or in written form whenever required.
8. To coordinate discussions and attend meetings with other units, subcontractors and customers on matters relating to scope and progress of jobs allocated under your charge. Matters raised are to be assessed prior to consultation with other sections/units and suggest reasonable solutions.
9. Establish and maintain good Public Relations(PR) and Communication link with Royal Malaysian Navy(RMN), Agensi Penguatkuasaan Maritim Malaysia(APMM), Marine Police, Jabatan Laut, others Government Agencies and Commercial clients.
10. Manage implement good record upkeep and proper execution of paperwork/reports on all job ship building and ship repair projects.
11. Manage production output by ensuring high quality of product and services to meet customers need and satisfactions.
12. Provide necessary information to compliment Estimator/Commercial Unit in preparation of tenders and billings.
13. Stay abreast of current and emerging trends in ship building and ship repair production standards.
14. You are required to understand, implement and ensure compliance to ISO9001 applicable requirement under your scope of work and responsibility.
15. Any other responsibilities as deemed necessary from time to time and whenever required.
Requirements:
Diploma/Bachelor's degree in marine engineering or similar.
Experience with engineering design software such as AutoCAD and etc.
Familiarity with maritime systems and naval construction processes.
Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Physically fit and able to work in strenuous circumstances and harsh weather conditions.
