Sure, you want to please everyone. You want to be like Raymond in the comedy show "Everybody Loves Raymond", but do you know that trying to make everyone happy can ruin your reputation? It's critical to please everyone without hurting anyone. Especially if you're the boss, it is tough to make all your staff like you. In this situation you have to be professional and put aside all those personal feeling or attachment. Screw it, if your staff think that you're not the best boss in the world. Seriously, it's hard to make everyone happy.

As a boss, you have to set your mind and goal. Don't seek popularity among your staffs, but seek accountability. After a couple of missteps, you will get the beat on the track. You can use the people-pleasing ways by using a systematic approach. This way will let you fully control on managing without using emotion. Learn how to be a good leader and professional.

Responsibility as a boss means that you have to make sure that all your staff do their jobs greatly and give a good performance. When they weren't, you could address specific actions that could be taken to improve the situation. Either the employee needs additional training or resources or whether there are some obstacles in the way to achieve the goal. You have to learn to know about your staff but this doesn't mean you have to spend hours gossiping or chit-chat over coffee with your staff.

Read all these reasons why trying to please everyone is a disaster action:

1. Eroding your credibility as a leader

"I have the coolest boss in the world! He's like so nice to his staff and always treat us like a buddy!" Oh no, it's a trap to be constantly filling people with platitudes. Don't try so hard to get compliment or award as the best boss in the world. If your staff is not doing a great job but you compliment them "good job", your encouragement will ring hollow at the times it's really necessary. Your staff won't believe you have the strength to scold them when it's needed. Yes person is toxic for the company. Remember that.

2. You will feel bad about yourself

No one likes to feel like a doormat. If you constantly saying "yes" to everyone regardless the situation, it's probably taking its toll on you. Is your intention when someone request something is to refuse it? So why you still saying yes and nod? Don't it make you feel bad about yourself? Isn't it? Don't burden yourself doing someone's responsibility. You have to take charge of the situation.

This doesn't require you to be a dictator, you just have to simply draw the line between pleasing everyone and just doing your job as a boss. You have to practice it and believe me, once you do it, you'll feel much more happy and good.

3. Your staff will be less loyal

This is something that you have to remember and keep this quote for everyday use. Imagine this, you as a boss being so nice like a buddy to them and let them stick around you like a friend. One day, when they get used to it, you can see the changes lies in their attitude. They will be less respect and less loyal to you. Calling you rudely and even using high tone when talking to you because in their mind, you're not their boss but a buddy. They have crossed the line! Avoid this from happen and grow together with them until you guys success.
