Requirements
- Have a valid GDL License
- At least 2 years experience as a lorry driver
- Marital status is preferably single
- Strong commitment to safety regulations and traffic rules.
- Dependable, punctual, and capable of meeting tight delivery schedules.
- Effective communication skills for interactions with other team members.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and adapt to changing schedules.
- Organizational skills for managing delivery schedules and maintaining accurate records.
- Proficient in completing paperwork, including delivery notes, invoices, and customs documentation.
- Familiarity with local roads and routes.
- Team player willing to collaborate with the transport coordinator, dispatcher, and other team members.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate and drive lorries to transport goods related to event management and general trading to various destinations.
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of event materials, supplies, and trading goods to designated locations.
- Responsible for loading and unloading event equipment, supplies, and trading goods from the lorry.
- Ensure that the loaded items are properly secured to prevent damage during transportation.
- Conduct routine checks on the lorry's mechanical and safety features.
- Report any defects or malfunctions to the appropriate authorities or supervisors.
- Ensure that the lorry is in good working condition before each trip.
- Keep accurate records of event materials, trading goods, and deliveries, including delivery notes, invoices, and receipts.
- Complete necessary paperwork for customs and other regulatory requirements.
- Comply with company policies and procedures related to the transportation of event materials and trading goods.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules for events and trading activities.
- Plan routes efficiently to optimize fuel consumption and delivery times.
- Maintain effective communication with the transport coordinator, dispatcher, or supervisor.
- Report any delays, issues, or incidents promptly.
- Other ad-hoc tasks given by the Management.
