Job Description

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in Optometry from an accredited institution.

  • Eligible for registration with the Malaysian Optical Council.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in conducting comprehensive eye examinations, including visual acuity testing, refraction, and ocular health assessments.

  • Skilled in fitting and dispensing various types of contact lenses, including soft, rigid gas permeable, and specialty lenses.

  • Experience or strong aptitude for retail sales, including patient consultation, product recommendation, and achieving sales targets.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and customers in English and Mandarin.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team in a fast-paced retail environment.

  • Commitment to providing exceptional patient care and upholding the company's standards for quality eyecare merchandise.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive eye examinations for patients of all ages, assessing visual acuity, binocular vision, and ocular health.

  • Diagnose and manage a wide range of eye conditions, including refractive errors, dry eye, glaucoma, cataracts, and other ocular diseases.

  • Prescribe and fit contact lenses, providing patient education on proper wear, care, and hygiene.

  • Recommend and dispense ophthalmic lenses and frames, advising patients on the best options to meet their visual needs and aesthetic preferences.

  • Educate patients on eye health, preventative care, and the importance of regular eye check-ups.

  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting examination findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.

  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as ophthalmologists and general practitioners, when necessary for patient referrals and coordinated care.

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in optometry, optical technology, and eyecare products through continuous professional development.

  • Assist in managing inventory of optical products, including lenses, frames, and contact lenses, ensuring adequate stock levels.

  • Contribute to a positive and professional retail environment, engaging with customers to understand their needs and provide exceptional service.
