Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations & Food Preparation
• Support Head Chef and kitchen team in daily kitchen operations
• Prepare ingredients including cutting, portioning, marinating, and basic food preparation
• Assist in cooking and plating dishes according to Ssavoury’s standards
• Ensure workstation is properly set up with mise en place before service
Learning & Skill Development
• Learn Ssavoury’s recipes, kitchen SOP, and food preparation techniques
• Develop skills in kitchen workflow, station management, and food quality control
• Be open to feedback and continuously improve performance
• Work closely with senior team members to improve efficiency and consistency
Service & Prep Support
• Follow daily prep lists and instructions from senior kitchen team
• Ensure ingredients are properly labeled, stored, and rotated using FIFO method
• Assist in preparing sauces, garnishes, and supporting components for service
• Replenish ingredients and maintain station readiness during service hours
Hygiene, Cleanliness & Safety
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards at all times
• Clean and sanitize kitchen tools, equipment, and workstations properly
• Follow food safety and kitchen safety procedures strictly
• Report any spoiled items, maintenance issues, or safety concerns immediately
Inventory & Waste Control
• Minimize food wastage through proper handling and preparation
• Inform kitchen supervisors when stock levels are low
• Practice proper storage and ingredient rotation procedures
• Support inventory organization and stock management when needed
Communication & Teamwork
• Communicate clearly with kitchen and service team during operations
• Support teammates during busy service periods
• Maintain positive attitude, professionalism, and teamwork within the kitchen
Time Management & Discipline
• Report to work punctually and be prepared before service starts
• Complete assigned tasks efficiently and responsibly
• Support opening, closing, and next-day preparation duties
Additional Responsibilities
• Assist during events, catering services, and special functions
• Perform any additional tasks assigned to support overall kitchen operations
