Position: Sales Engineer / Senior Sales Engineer (Johor & Melaka Region)

Job Overview

Our client are seeking a driven and technically skilled Sales Engineer / Senior Sales Engineer to join our team in supporting industrial customers across Johor and Melaka. This role focuses on business development, technical solution selling, and key account management within industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical Processing, Power Generation, Manufacturing, and related sectors.

Location: Johor & Melaka Region

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM

Work Arrangement: Fully Onsite

Compensation & Benefits: Basic salary + Car Allowance+ Commission+ Annual Bonus (based on performance)

Key Responsibilities

1) Sales & Business Development

* Identify and develop new business opportunities within assigned industrial sectors.

* Maintain and grow relationships with existing clients including contractors, EPCs, distributors, and end-users.

* Achieve assigned sales targets, revenue, and gross margin objectives.

* Conduct technical sales presentations to promote sealing and fluid control solutions.

2) Technical Support & Solution Selling

* Provide technical consultation on gasket and sealing product selection based on operating conditions and industry standards.

* Recommend appropriate solutions such as spiral wound gaskets (SWG), ring type joints (RTJ), PTFE gaskets, compressed fibre sheets, and related products.

* Support troubleshooting of sealing failures and installation issues.

* Coordinate with engineering and manufacturing teams for customised product solutions.

3) Quotation & Project Support

* Prepare quotations, proposals, and tender documentation.

* Review technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.

* Participate in RFQs, tenders, and project bidding activities.

4) Customer Relationship Management

* Conduct regular customer visits, site inspections, and follow-ups.

* Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders such as engineers, procurement teams, and maintenance personnel.

* Provide after-sales support and ensure customer satisfaction.

5) Market & Reporting

* Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and project opportunities.

* Identify shutdown/turnaround (TA) and maintenance project opportunities.

* Prepare sales reports, forecasts, and pipeline updates.

Requirements

* Minimum SPM; Diploma or Degree in Engineering is preferred.

* Minimum 2 years of relevant experience for Sales Engineer; 5+ years for Senior Sales Engineer.

* Background in industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical Processing, Oleochemical, Manufacturing, or related fields.

* Strong understanding of rotating equipment (pumps, motors, bearings), mechanical seals, and gaskets.

* Strong business development and account management skills.

* Candidates from mechanical or industrial engineering backgrounds are preferred.

* Electrical background is not preferred.

* Willing to travel 50–70% within Johor, Melaka, and overseas when required.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
