Job Description

Requirements

ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT

1. Adhere to nursery rules, policies, procedures, and daily schedules at all times.

2. Plan, prepare, and conduct learning activities appropriate to the children’s age and developmental needs.

3. Supervise children during learning sessions, meal times, nap times, and play activities to ensure their safety and well-being.

4. Ensure classrooms and play areas are clean, safe, and well-organized.

5. Assist children with daily routines, including eating, toileting, personal hygiene, and self-care activities.

6. Communicate professionally and courteously with parents regarding children’s daily activities, progress, and well-being.

7. Attend staff meetings, nursery programs, and related activities as scheduled. 8. Maintain accurate records of children’s attendance and daily reports as required.

9. Participate in training, workshops, and courses related to childcare and early childhood education.

10. Support orientation and onboarding programs for newly joined staff.

11. Assist in organizing and supporting nursery activities, events, and educational programs.

12. Continuously enhance teaching competency and child management skills. 13. Comply with nursery policies, health guidelines, and safety procedures at all times.

14. Maintain strict confidentiality of children’s and parents’ information.

15. Practice and maintain proper hygiene, cleanliness, and infection control measures.

16. Ensure children are supervised at all times to maintain a safe environment.

17. Ensure toys, educational materials, and equipment are clean, safe, and suitable for use.

18. Report any damaged or unsafe equipment immediately to the supervisor.

19. Maintain proper arrangement and storage of classroom materials and resources.

20. Safeguard children’s safety, welfare, and emotional well-being at all times.

21. Participate in nursery safety drills, emergency response procedures, and related activities.

22. Maintain overall cleanliness and hygiene of the classroom and nursery environment.

23. Promote positive behaviour management and discipline among children.

24. Provide friendly, professional, and customer-oriented service to parents and visitors.

25. Ensure compliance with all requirements and regulations set by Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM).

26. Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) knowledge and emergency response awareness through required training and refreshers.

27. Assist during nursery events, celebrations, and special occasions.

28. Support decorations, educational displays, and special activity preparations.

29. Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or management from time to time

HUMAN RESOURCE AND DEVELOPMENT

1. Takes personal responsibility for own professional development and keep up to date with professional change and growth by maintaining mandatory training hours.

2. Participates in the orientation of new members of staff to the services.

3. Participates actively in any other new service that is introduced.

4. Maintain the record of personal leave and training attended.

POLICIES AND PROCEDURES

1. Adheres to the hospital policies and procedure and services code of conduct/ policies.

2. Maintain confidentiality of patient’s or staff personal and medical history.

3. Ensure adherence to Prevention and Control of Infection.

FACILITIES AND EQUIPMENT

1. Assists the qualified staff in the following:

2. Maintains proper storage of all equipment assigned in the services.

3. Check all equipment to ensure that they are in good condition and ready to be used at all time. Report if there is any faulty.

4. Maintains adequate supply of services stock [where relevant]. 

5. Keeps accurate records of equipment, medical supplies and drug in the services [kindly delete where appropriate].

Responsibilities

SAFETY AND QUALITY IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES

1. Complies and promotes any recognized hospital Policies, and protect, promote and support Hospital activities.  

2. Participates actively in any other new service that is introduced by the services.

3. Participates in 5S activities and comply with the specified requirements 

4. Practices Standard People Practice (SPP) at all times. 

5. Ensure compliance of Patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety.

6. Policies on patient and family rights are addressed at all times 

7. Participates actively and encourages compliance to all policies and Procedures of ISO9001: 2008, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, ISO 14001:2004, Malaysian Hospital Accreditation Standards, Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards, PSG and NNA. 

8. Complies with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health. 

9. Carries out duties as an employee as stipulated  in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994:-

10. To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons;

11. To co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty;

12. To cooperate with the outsourcing parties or any other persons in the discharge of any duty;

13. To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer;

14. To comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health.
15. Carries out responsibilities on customer service:-

16. All employees will understand and be able to implement Customer Service Policy, as stated in the IMS Manual, Procedures, relevant work instructions and Customer Service Manual.

17. Conducting work that fosters public support for the hospital, that will lead to fewer complaints and claims against the company.

18. Helping to improve customer service by meeting and exceeding customer’s expectations.

19. Anticipating possible problems that customers may face.

20. Helping to resolve difficulties that customers may face.

21. To promote customer service of high standard among staff.

22. Monitoring customer service level.

23. Cooperating in customer service audits.

24. Keeping customer service committee updated on customer service issues 25. To ensure that when dealing with customers all members of the staff respond in a courteous, consistent, timely and fair manner and satisfy all reasonable request from the customers.

26. To ensure that the Hospital resources are used efficiently and effectively when dealing with customers.

27. To treat customers with respect and dignity.

28. To provide physical comfort, specifically relief from pain and pleasant and clean surrounding.

29. Compliance to general terms:-

Personal appearance

  • Is appropriate for the work environment and meets expectation for the proper image of the hospital, as per services policies.

Attendance

  • Following hospital’s policy regarding punctuality and attendance.
