Key Job Requirements

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering (or equivalent)

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in site supervision or construction fieldwork

Experience

• At least 2 years experiences in related field

• Experience in managing large-scale chiller plants and working in multidisciplinary teams is added value

Technical Capabilities

• Knowledge of chiller systems, chiller, and related equipment is added value

• Good communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities

Additional Requirements

• Good verbal and written communication skills

• Basic knowledge of regulations related to chiller plant operations

• Willingness to work outside normal business hours in case of emergencies

• This role may involve exposure to noise, heat, and mechanical equipment as occasional travel may be required

• Visual acuity to read technical documents and inspect equipment

Purpose of the role

To oversee and coordinate all site activities to ensure that work is executed safely, on schedule, within quality standards, and according to project specifications.

Acts as the main on-site coordinator between the management, subcontractors, and workers to ensure smooth site operations and adherence to company procedures.

Key Accountabilities

• Supervise daily site works, ensuring compliance with drawings, specifications, and schedules.

• Coordinate and monitor the activities of workers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure timely progress.

• Verify work quality and ensure corrective actions are taken for non-conformances.

• Plan daily work activities, allocate manpower and materials efficiently.

• Report daily progress and issues to the Site Agent or Project Engineer.

• Ensure works are carried out according to approved method statements, drawings, and standards.

• Conduct site inspections to ensure workmanship and materials meet required specifications.

• Maintain site records such as daily reports, inspection checklists, and work permits.

• Assist in preparing site measurements and progress claims.

• Support the Project Engineer in resolving site-related technical issues.

• Enforce compliance with safety rules, regulations, and company safety procedures.

• Ensure all workers wear proper PPE and follow safe work practices.

• Report unsafe acts, near misses, or incidents immediately to the Safety Officer and Project Manager.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

• Conduct toolbox meetings and ensure daily safety briefings are recorded.

• Monitor material deliveries, storage, and usage to minimize wastage.

• Check material quality and verify compliance with specifications before installation.

• Coordinate equipment usage and ensure proper maintenance and operation on site.

• Prepare material requisitions in advance to avoid project delays.

• Liaise effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal project teams.

• Submit daily site reports, manpower records, and work progress updates to management.

• Support project documentation including photos, test reports, and inspection records.

• Assist in site meetings, providing accurate progress feedback and problem-solving input.

Working Relationships

Internal Relationships

• Daily interaction with site staff, workers, and subcontractors while maintaining effective communication and coordination with the Project Manager, Site Agent, Engineers, and Safety Officer to ensure smooth site operations.

• Supervise and guide site workers and subcontractors to ensure adherence to work plans, schedules, safety standards, and professionalism in all site dealings.

• Regular communication (daily to weekly) with Project Engineer/Project Manager for progress and issue reporting.

• Periodic coordination (weekly or as required) with Head Office departments for approvals, claims, and documentation such as material requisitions, manpower deployment, and reports.

External Relationships

• Frequent contact (daily or as needed) with subcontractors and suppliers for operational coordination, material delivery, work scheduling, and technical clarifications.

• Regular interaction (weekly or as required) with client or consultant representatives on site matters, inspections, and work verifications.

• Occasional liaison with government agencies or regulatory bodies during project audits or safety visits.

• Support communication with authorities or site visitors (DOSH, CIDB, local council, utility agencies) during inspections or audits.
