About the role
Alam Kotamas Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor Executive (QS) to join our dynamic team in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. As a full-time member of our Construction division, you will play a key role in ensuring the financial success of our construction projects.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for construction projects
- Monitoring and controlling project costs throughout the construction lifecycle
- Negotiating and finalising sub-contractor agreements and purchase orders
- Reviewing and approving progress claims and variation orders
- Providing regular cost reporting and forecasting to project stakeholders
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and implementing value engineering initiatives
- Ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and legal/regulatory requirements
What we're looking for
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related construction discipline
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry
- Strong understanding of construction cost management principles and best practices
- Proficient in the use of quantity surveying software, such as CostX or Causeway
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
