Requirements
- Possess a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) or equivalent medical degree recognized by the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
- Hold a valid and current Annual Practicing Certificate (APC) from the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).
- Have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in general practice or a similar clinical setting.
- Demonstrate strong clinical skills in patient assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for a wide range of common medical conditions.
- Proficient in managing chronic diseases and providing preventative healthcare services.
- Excellent patient care skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with diverse patient populations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Proficiency in maintaining accurate and confidential medical records in accordance with established protocols.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a small, collaborative healthcare team.
- Familiarity with common medical software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Fluency in English, Mandarin, and Bahasa Malaysia is highly desirable for effective communication with the local patient demographic.
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive primary healthcare services to patients of all ages, including diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic illnesses.
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history taking, physical examinations, and interpretation of diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, prescribing medications, and referring patients to specialists when necessary.
- Educate patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of their conditions, fostering a collaborative approach to care.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records, adhering to all legal and ethical standards of medical documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals within the clinic and external specialists to ensure coordinated and holistic patient care.
- Participate in continuous professional development and stay updated with the latest medical advancements, guidelines, and best practices in general practice.
- Communicate clearly and empathetically with patients from diverse backgrounds, utilizing strong interpersonal and active listening skills.
- Perform minor surgical procedures and administer vaccinations as per established protocols.
- Contribute to the overall efficiency and quality of the clinic's services, potentially assisting in the training of junior staff or medical students.
