Job Requirements
Diploma in a relevant field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, specifically with fleet and heavy vehicle parts.
Proven experience in import and export procedures.
Strong negotiation and communication skills.
Proficiency in inventory management and procurement software.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Knowledge of the transportation and logistics industry is a plus.

Job Purpose
This role exists to strengthen and sustain the operational backbone of a growing supply chain company specialising in bulk cement trading and distribution, where fleet reliability and delivery performance are critical to business success.
The Purchaser / Senior Purchaser plays a key role in ensuring that our logistics and workshop operations are continuously supported with the right parts, at the right cost, and at the right time. In a business where delivery commitments and transport efficiency directly define customer trust, this role becomes essential in keeping our fleet moving without disruption.
Beyond transactional purchasing, this position is responsible for building a resilient and cost-effective procurement system—developing strong local and international supplier networks, improving sourcing efficiency, and ensuring optimal landed cost management for all fleet and workshop requirements.
Ultimately, this role supports the company’s growth journey by transforming procurement into a strategic advantage that enhances operational reliability, cost competitiveness, and long-term scalability in the cement distribution supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
1. Purchasing – Local Spare Parts
Source and request quotations from local suppliers for spare parts.
Conduct price comparisons and recommend suppliers based on price, lead time, and quality.
Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (PO) upon approval and in accordance with approval limits.
Update PO status in the PO In-Progress Report and follow up on delivery timelines.
Coordinate with suppliers on part availability, delivery status, and delays.
Highlight abnormal price increases, delivery risks, or supply issues to the Store Supervisor or management.
