Position Title: Software Developer

Office: Kuala Lumpur
Employment Type: Contractual (12 months) under SRKAY payroll

Key Objective

We are looking for a skilled Software Developer to join our team in Kuala Lumpur. In this role, you will collaborate with the Systems Development Team and Product Manager to build reliable, scalable, and secure software applications tailored to support our business in the insurance industry. You will be responsible for the full software lifecycle, from development and testing to deployment, while adhering to industry best practices and coding standards.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education & Experience:

• Recommended qualification in Software Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in developing software applications (web/mobile).

Technical Skills:

• Frontend: Practical experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design (e.g., Bootstrap).

• Backend/Stack:Practical experience in.Net/C#/WebAPIorJava (Angular/React experience is a plus).

• Database: Hands-on experience designing databases (e.g., MS SQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).

• Middleware: Experience designing APIs and ETL processes.

• Testing: Experience with unit testing frameworks (e.g., NUnit, xUnit, JUnit, JestJS).

• Security: Knowledge of security frameworks and governance (e.g., OWASP, SonarCloud).

• Cloud: Experience with Cloud development and architecture (e.g., MS Azure or AWS).

• Methodologies: Experience with Agile development processes.

Soft Skills:

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to mentor junior team members and foster a collaborative environment.

• Excellent communication skills in Mandarin to support our Taiwan business operations.

Major Duties and Responsibilities

1. Software Development & Architecture

• Design, develop, and test software solutions (frontend, backend, API, and database) following the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• Translate user requirements into effective, scalable, and secure software solutions.

• Write, review, and optimize clean, maintainable code utilizing design patterns and best practices.

• Analyze and resolve technical debt to enhance security and performance.

• Contribute to solution architecture, ensuring solutions meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.

2. Testing & Quality Assurance

• Implement comprehensive testing strategies including unit testing and integration testing.

• Collaborate with QA teams to identify and prevent defects using automated testing tools.

• Participate in code reviews and pair programming to ensure high-quality delivery.

3. Incident Management & Debugging

• Proactively debug and troubleshoot moderately complex software defects.

• Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve issues.

4. Documentation

• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including system architecture, API references, and code comments.

• Ensure documentation is clear, accurate, and aligned with project goals.

5. DevOps & Deployment

• Assist in setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for automated build, test, and deployment processes.

• Collaborate with the DevOps team to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.

6. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Product Managers, Designers, and other Engineers) to achieve project goals.
