We are seeking an experienced and dedicated academic to join our academic team as a Senior Lecturer in Educational Psychology. The successful candidate will contribute to high-quality teaching and learning, research, curriculum development, student supervision and professional engagement in the field of Educational Psychology and related areas.
Responsibilities
- Deliver lectures, tutorials and other teaching and learning activities in Educational Psychology and related areas at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
- Develop, review and enhance curriculum, course content, teaching materials and assessments in line with academic standards and current developments in educational psychology.
- Supervise undergraduate and postgraduate projects, research, dissertations and/or theses, where applicable.
- Conduct research and contribute to publications, conferences, research grants and other scholarly activities in Educational Psychology and related fields.
- Participate in programme development, programme review, accreditation, academic quality assurance and continuous improvement activities.
- Provide academic guidance, consultation and mentoring to students.
- Apply contemporary theories and research in psychology to enhance teaching, learning and student development.
- Contribute to initiatives related to learning, motivation, cognitive development, assessment and individual differences within educational settings.
- Establish and maintain professional engagement with educational institutions, professional bodies, government agencies, research institutions and other relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to professional development, research collaborations and community engagement activities related to education and psychology.
- Participate in departmental, faculty and institutional committees, meetings, events and other academic activities.
- Perform other academic and administrative duties as assigned by the Head of Department/Dean.
Requirements
- Possess a PhD or Doctoral Degree in Educational Psychology, Psychology, Education, Developmental Psychology, or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
- Possess relevant teaching experience at tertiary level, preferably in Educational Psychology, Psychology, Education or a related discipline.
- Demonstrate a strong track record in research, publications and scholarly activities.
- Experience in supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate research projects is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of psychological theories and their application to teaching, learning, development and educational settings.
- Experience in curriculum development, programme review, accreditation and academic quality assurance will be an added advantage.
- Relevant professional or research experience in educational settings will be an added advantage.
- Experience in research methods, psychological or educational assessment, and quantitative and/or qualitative research will be an added advantage.
- Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Good command of English, both written and spoken.
Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM6,500.00 per month
