Position: Site Safety Supervisor (SSS)
Location: Malaysia
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) to oversee workplace safety and health practices at construction sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Malaysian safety regulations, promoting a safe working environment, and supporting project teams in achieving safety objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce compliance with site safety rules, regulations, and company safety policies.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections and identify potential hazards and unsafe practices.
- Implement and monitor Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC) activities.
- Conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and safety awareness programs for workers and subcontractors.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses, and prepare investigation reports.
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and safe work procedures.
- Maintain safety records, permits, inspection reports, and statutory documentation.
- Assist project management in implementing site safety plans and corrective actions.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and relevant authorities on safety matters.
- Promote a positive safety culture across all site activities.
Requirements
- Valid Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) Yellow Book certification.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in construction site safety supervision.
- Good knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety and health regulations and construction safety requirements.
- Familiarity with HIRARC, Permit-to-Work (PTW), and incident investigation procedures.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage safety risks effectively.
- Proficient in preparing safety reports and maintaining safety documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in industrial, commercial, warehouse, or infrastructure construction projects.
- Valid First Aid certification is an added advantage.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
Work Location: In person
