JOB DESCRIPTION – ACCOUNT ASSISTANT
Position: Account Assistant
Department: Finance / Accounts
Reports To: Account Executive / Account Manager
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the company's daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Prepare and process invoices, payment vouchers, receipts, credit notes, and other accounting documents.
- Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded and updated in the accounting system.
- Assist with bank reconciliation and ensure transactions are properly matched and recorded.
- Monitor customer payments and follow up on outstanding accounts when required.
- Process payments to suppliers and ensure all supporting documents are complete before payment.
- Verify supplier invoices, purchase orders, delivery orders, and other supporting documents before processing.
- Assist in preparing monthly financial reports and supporting documents for month-end closing.
- Maintain proper filing and documentation of accounting records for reference and audit purposes.
- Assist in preparing supporting documents for audit, tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Manage petty cash transactions and ensure all claims are supported by proper documentation.
- Assist in checking and processing staff claims and reimbursements according to company policies.
- Liaise with customers, suppliers, banks, and internal departments on accounting and payment-related matters when required.
- Maintain confidentiality of the company's financial information and records.
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned by management from time to time.
Requirements
- Minimum Certificate, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Relevant working experience in accounting or finance will be an advantage. Fresh graduates may also be considered.
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience with accounting software will be an added advantage.
- Detail-oriented, organised, and comfortable working with numbers.
- Good communication and time-management skills.
- Able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Responsible, trustworthy, and able to meet deadlines.
Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
