Requirements
Minimum Diploma in Hospitality, Tourism Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
At least 6 years of progressive experience in cruise line operations, expedition tour management, or a similar senior role within the travel and tourism industry.
Proven expertise in managing cruise partnerships, including establishing and nurturing relationships with cruise lines and suppliers.
Demonstrated experience in overseeing complex cruise and expedition tour operations, ensuring seamless execution from planning to post-trip analysis.
In-depth knowledge and practical experience with Polar Expedition Tours, including Arctic & Antarctic logistics, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
Strong negotiation skills with a track record of successfully securing favorable terms with vendors, suppliers, and partners.
Excellent project management capabilities, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and budgets.
Proficiency in tour operations, including detailed itinerary planning, brochure preparation, and ensuring high-quality customer experiences.
Experience in booking and logistics coordination for large groups and complex travel arrangements, including flights, accommodations, and transfers.
Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to handle client inquiries, resolve issues effectively, and ensure client satisfaction.
A keen eye for market trends, with the ability to monitor industry developments and identify new opportunities for product development and service enhancement.
Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is essential. Proficiency in Mandarin is a strong advantage. Fluency in Cantonese is a mandatory requirement for this role.
Responsibilities
Lead and oversee the end-to-end management of complex cruise and expedition tours, ensuring seamless execution from planning to post-trip evaluation, with a strong focus on Cantonese-speaking clientele.
Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with cruise lines and expedition operators, leveraging negotiation skills to secure favorable terms and enhance product offerings.
Manage all aspects of expedition logistics, including Arctic and Antarctic operations, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and environmental protocols.
Design and refine captivating tour itineraries and promotional materials, incorporating market trends and customer feedback to maximize appeal and booking potential.
Provide exceptional customer service to high-value clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a memorable and satisfactory travel experience.
Collaborate with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure cohesive tour management and achieve company objectives.
Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging destinations within the cruise and expedition sector to identify new business opportunities and maintain a competitive edge.
