Minimum SPM or equivalent.

Certificate in Nursing Aide, Healthcare Assistant, Caregiver, Patient Care, or related qualification is preferred.

Basic First Aid and CPR certification is preferred.

Training or experience in autism care, special needs, disability support, or behavioural support is an advantage.

Previous experience working with autistic individuals, young adults with special needs, residential care, healthcare, or caregiving is preferred.

Experience providing personal care and supporting individuals with different levels of independence is an advantage.

Fresh candidates with relevant qualifications and a strong willingness to learn may be considered.

Able to work on shift rotation

Able to assist with physical activities according to the individual's needs.

Able to recognise and report changes in physical health, mood, behaviour, appetite, sleep, or general wellbeing.

Able to follow individual care plans and instructions from nurses, doctors, therapists, teachers, and supervisors.

Able to maintain proper hygiene and infection-control practices.

Able to respond calmly and appropriately during emergencies or episodes of distress.

Good observation, communication, and documentation skills.

Able to maintain accurate daily care and incident records.

Able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Provide patient, calm, and respectful support to autistic young adults.

Understand that each individual may have different communication, sensory, behavioural, and support needs.

Use appropriate communication methods, including simple language, visual supports, gestures, or other established communication systems.

Recognise signs of sensory overload, anxiety, distress, or emotional dysregulation.

Follow the individual's established behavioural and support strategies.

Maintain a predictable and structured environment where appropriate.

Respect sensory preferences and individual routines.

Support positive behaviour using approved, person-centred approaches.

Understand and respect personal boundaries and individual preferences.

Avoid unnecessary confrontation and seek assistance from senior staff when a situation escalates.

Support individuals without unnecessarily doing tasks that they are capable of doing themselves.
