Role Description

Developing detailed mechanical designs and technical drawings using CAD software in accordance with project specifications and industry standards

* Conducting feasibility studies and design analysis to ensure mechanical systems meet performance requirements and are cost-effective

* Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, project managers and clients, to understand project requirements and deliver solutions

* Performing calculations and simulations to validate design concepts and identify potential improvements

* Preparing technical documentation, including design reports, bill of materials and assembly instructions

* Reviewing and revising designs based on feedback from stakeholders and engineering reviews

* Liaising with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and can be produced efficiently

* Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of mechanical design standards, codes and best practices within the industry

Qualifications

* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent professional qualification and experience

* Proficiency in mechanical CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Creo or similar industry-standard tools

* Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science and manufacturing processes

* Experience in creating detailed technical drawings and specifications that meet industry standards

* Solid knowledge of design analysis, including stress analysis, thermal analysis and finite element analysis (FEA)

* Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and develop practical engineering solutions

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work

* Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams

* Experience with project management tools and familiarity with quality assurance processes is preferred

* Knowledge of relevant mechanical engineering codes and standards applicable to your specific industry sector is advantageous
