What You Will Do
Support storage and backup deployments, capacity expansions, migrations and re-platforming projects.
Perform storage/data migrations with minimal disruption and support legacy system decommissioning.
Configure and manage backup policies, schedules and retention settings, including backup restoration and disaster recovery testing.
Develop security baselines, test cases and documentation to meet security, compliance and audit requirements.
Monitor storage and backup capacity, performance and availability; respond to incidents and perform routine maintenance.
Identify automation opportunities using Python, Bash, PowerShell and AI-assisted tools to improve operational efficiency.
Work closely with server, network, database and application teams to support infrastructure projects.
Maintain clear operational procedures, documentation and knowledge bases.
Requirements
Degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
At least 5 years’ experience in storage engineering, infrastructure operations or related roles.
Hands-on experience with enterprise storage platforms such as Hitachi, NetApp, Dell EMC, Pure Storage or HPE.
Experience with SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS and CIFS.
Experience with enterprise backup platforms such as Veritas NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam or Dell EMC NetWorker.
Storage/data migration and backup infrastructure migration experience is highly desirable.
Experience with backup, deduplication, replication, snapshots and offsite/cloud backup is advantageous.
Proficiency in Python, Bash or PowerShell for automation.
Knowledge of cloud storage/backup such as AWS S3 or AWS Backup is an advantage.
Experience with security hardening, test documentation, compliance/audit and ITIL environments is a plus.
