Job Role

Dream job alert: Singapore’s most-read newspaper seeks a lifestyle journalist for the Life section. We are looking for someone experienced and interested in lifestyle news, keen on unearthing ways to help people live, work, relate, travel, eat and dress better.

The ideal candidate 

• Devours lifestyle content voraciously
• Can home in on the latest lifestyle industry developments, spot and analyse trends, and package these into informative, engaging and useful stories
• Is adept at any of the following skills, with the goal of creating content on multiple platforms to amplify the ST Life brand: social media, video presentation/production, SEO, podcasts, radio
• Writes with flair
• Is curious about the world and open to new lifestyle experiences
• Hardworking, resourceful, full of initiative and able to meet deadlines

Job requirements 

• 3-10 years of journalism experience, Lifestyle or news reporting experience is a plus
• Degree from a recognised university
• Excellent command of English 
• Strong writing and reporting skills, with the ability to produce compelling, and engaging content on tight deadlines
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with newsmakers, colleagues, and audiences
• Good news sense with a good understanding of online and mobile readership
• Comfortable using social media and digital tools to research, report, and promote content
• Willingness to be rostered to work on shifts, weekends and/or public holidays
