Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented
Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO)
to spearhead, maintain, and champion our corporate environmental, health, and safety programs. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering a proactive safety culture across our worksites, ensuring total regulatory compliance, and minimizing workplace hazards.
Roles and Responsibilities
Statutory Compliance:
Serve as the designated site WSHO to ensure all operations strictly align with the Singapore Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Act, MOM regulations, and NEA environmental guidelines.
Risk Management:
Conduct regular risk assessments, identify potential job hazards, and implement robust Risk Management (RM) implementation plans.
Inspections & Auditing:
Perform daily site safety inspections and lead internal safety audits to identify non-compliance, rectifying hazards immediately.
Incident Investigation:
Lead thorough investigations into any near-misses, workplace incidents, or dangerous occurrences. Prepare comprehensive root-cause analysis reports and execute corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
Safety Training & Culture:
Conduct site safety inductions, tool-box meetings, and emergency response drills. Cultivate a zero-harm safety culture among all employees, contractors, and vendors.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain up-to-date safety records, including incident statistics, permit-to-work (PTW) logs, and environmental tracking data for statutory reviews.
Agency Liaison:
Act as the primary point of contact for external regulatory bodies, including MOM, NEA, and SCDF, during site audits or inspections.
Job Requirements & Criteria
Professional Registration:
Must be a Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
Applications without valid MOM registration will not be considered.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience
as a practicing WSHO/HSE Officer in Singapore.
Education:
Possess a WSQ Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety and Health (SDWSH) or a recognized Degree/Diploma in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
Certifications (Preferred):
Valid certifications as a
Confined Space Safety Assessor (CSSA)
,
Safe Management Officer (SMO)
, or
Fire Safety Manager (FSM)
will be highly advantageous.
Soft Skills:
Excellent command of written and spoken English. Proven ability to influence site teams and firmly enforce safety protocols with diplomatically strong communication.
