Project Engineer – Data Centre (Fibre / ELV)

Purnama Solution (M) Sdn Bhd is seeking a hands-on, fast-paced Project Engineer to support the execution of Data Centre Fibre, ELV and infrastructure works.

This is a site-based execution role, not an office-only engineering position. The successful candidate must be technically capable, able to manage site teams and workfronts, maintain proper project documentation, and communicate effectively with clients, consultants and management.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise daily Data Centre site activities.
• Manage assigned workfronts, Site Supervisors, technicians, workers and subcontractors.
• Plan daily and weekly manpower allocation and work activities.
• Monitor site productivity, progress and completion against project targets.
• Coordinate fibre optic cable pulling, routing, dressing and containment works.
• Coordinate basket tray, cable tray, cabinets, racks and related infrastructure works where applicable.
• Coordinate fibre termination, testing, validation and rectification activities.
• Review drawings, method statements and technical requirements before execution.
• Identify technical issues, access constraints, clashes and workfront delays.
• Coordinate with other trades and project stakeholders to resolve site issues.
• Monitor materials, tools, equipment and access requirements.
• Coordinate use of scissor lifts, boom lifts and other access equipment where required.
• Conduct site inspections and monitor workmanship and quality.
• Ensure works are executed safely and according to approved procedures.
• Prepare Daily and Weekly Progress Reports.
• Maintain progress photographs, manpower records and productivity reports.
• Prepare meeting minutes, action lists and technical documentation.
• Update project trackers, schedules and outstanding work lists.
• Support preparation of project progress presentations.
• Attend coordination, technical and client meetings when required.
• Support measurement of completed works, progress claims and variation documentation.
• Monitor defects, punch-list items and outstanding works until closure.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, handover and project close-out activities.
• Escalate technical, safety, quality or programme issues to the Assistant Project Manager / Project Manager.

Requirements

• Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical discipline.
• Preferably 3–5 years of relevant project or site experience.
• Experience in Data Centre, Fibre Optic, ELV, Structured Cabling, ICT Infrastructure, M&E or related engineering projects is preferred.
• Data Centre experience will be a strong advantage.
• Able to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of site execution and technical coordination.
• Able to manage Site Supervisors, technicians, workers and subcontractors.
• Able to handle multiple workfronts and changing priorities.
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good project documentation and reporting capability.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Able to prepare and present project progress to management.
• Willing to work at project sites and travel where required.
• Willing to work extended hours, weekends or shifts when required by project activities.
• Valid driving licence preferred.

Pay: RM4,500.00 - RM5,500.00 per month
