Requirements

 

  • Currently pursuing a Certificate, SKM, Diploma, or equivalent qualification in Automotive Technology, Automotive Engineering, Vehicle Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 
  • Students seeking internship / industrial training are encouraged to apply. 
  • No previous working experience is required; practical training and guidance will be provided. 
  • Basic knowledge of automotive engines, transmissions, electrical systems, air-conditioning, brakes, suspension, and vehicle maintenance is preferred. 
  • Strong interest in automotive repair, diagnostics, and modern vehicle technology. 
  • Willing to learn engine, transmission, wiring, air-conditioning, ECU/TCU/ABS diagnostics, and troubleshooting. 
  • Willing to perform hands-on mechanical work in a workshop environment. 
  • Able to use basic hand tools and workshop equipment safely. 
  • Willing to learn the use of diagnostic scanners and specialized automotive equipment. 
  • Responsible, disciplined, punctual, hardworking, and willing to learn. 
  • Able to follow instructions and accept feedback from senior mechanics and management. 
  • Able to work independently under supervision and as part of a team. 
  • Must maintain workshop cleanliness and properly care for company tools and equipment. 
  • Must comply with company policies, workshop SOPs, and occupational safety requirements. 
  • Possession of a valid driving licence is an advantage. 
  • Basic knowledge of Hybrid/HEV vehicle systems is an advantage. 
  • Willing to work overtime when required and permitted under the internship arrangement.

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist senior mechanics and technicians with daily vehicle servicing, maintenance, diagnosis, and repair work. 
  • Assist in engine servicing, repair, troubleshooting, and basic overhaul work. 
  • Assist with automatic transmission, CVT, DCT/DSG inspection, servicing, and repair. 
  • Assist in diagnosing automotive electrical and wiring problems. 
  • Learn to use automotive diagnostic scanners and workshop testing equipment. 
  • Assist in checking ECU, TCU, ABS, sensors, and other vehicle electronic systems. 
  • Assist with automotive air-conditioning servicing, troubleshooting, flushing, and repair. 
  • Perform basic maintenance such as engine oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plug, brake fluid, coolant, and other fluid replacements. 
  • Assist with suspension, steering, braking, wheel bearing, and undercarriage repairs. 
  • Carry out vehicle inspections and identify worn or damaged components under supervision. 
  • Assist in dismantling, inspecting, repairing, and assembling vehicle components. 
  • Learn to read diagnostic trouble codes, live data, wiring diagrams, and technical information. 
  • Assist with test drives and final vehicle inspections under the supervision of an authorized technician. 
  • Collect spare parts, workshop supplies, and other items when instructed by the company. 
  • Maintain workshop tools and equipment properly after use. 
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the workshop and assigned work area. 
  • Follow all workshop safety procedures and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). 
  • Record work performed and report vehicle findings to the supervising mechanic. 
  • Participate in technical training and practical learning provided by the company. 
  • Perform other workshop-related duties assigned by management.
