Job Opportunity:

Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance (BHSI) is seeking a Claims Examiner to join our Kuala Lumpur office.

In this role, you will deliver fair, timely, and customer-focused outcomes across a portfolio of Travel and Personal Accident claims spanning Australia, New Zealand, Asia, and the Middle East. You will work closely with brokers, insureds, assistance providers, and underwriting teams, gaining exposure to multiple markets while helping protect BHSI's reputation for exceptional claims service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Deliver accurate and timely claim decisions by applying policy coverage knowledge and sound claims judgment;
• Manage a portfolio of Travel and Personal Accident claims to achieve quality, service, and resolution objectives;
• Assess claim information and supporting evidence to determine coverage and drive appropriate claim outcomes;
• Build strong relationships with insureds, brokers, assistance providers, and internal stakeholders through clear and professional communication;
• Identify recovery and cost-management opportunities that improve claim and portfolio performance;
• Partner with underwriting and claims colleagues to share insights, identify trends, and support continuous improvement.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

• Typically, 1 to 5 years of experience handling Travel, Personal Accident, Accident & Health, or similar insurance claims;
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to interpret policy coverage and assess claim information;
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills;
• Ability to manage priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment;
• Experience with Australian and New Zealand claims or multinational programs is advantageous.
