Therapy Aide Manager – Job Description
Job Summary
The Therapy Aide Manager is responsible for overseeing therapy aide operations, supporting therapists and healthcare professionals, supervising therapy aides, and ensuring high standards of patient care and operational efficiency. The role includes coordinating daily therapy support activities, maintaining treatment readiness, and ensuring a safe, professional, and patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities
Therapy Support Operations
- Oversee the daily activities of therapy aides and support staff
- Ensure therapy rooms, equipment, and treatment areas are prepared and maintained
- Coordinate patient flow and therapy session support
- Assist therapists in delivering rehabilitation, wellness, or therapy services where required
Patient Care Support
- Support patients with mobility, transfers, exercises, and basic therapy assistance under therapist supervision
- Monitor patient comfort and safety during therapy sessions
- Provide guidance on basic therapy routines and post-treatment care instructions
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional conduct at all times
Staff Supervision & Training
- Schedule and supervise therapy aides’ daily assignments
- Train new therapy aides on operational procedures, hygiene standards, and patient handling techniques
- Conduct team briefings and performance monitoring
- Ensure staff comply with workplace safety and healthcare protocols
Administrative Duties
- Maintain therapy schedules, records, and operational documentation
- Monitor inventory of therapy supplies, linens, and equipment
- Coordinate maintenance and cleanliness of therapy equipment
- Assist with reporting and operational tracking
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure adherence to clinic, healthcare, or rehabilitation center policies
- Maintain hygiene, infection control, and workplace safety standards
- Ensure proper handling and storage of therapy equipment and supplies
- Support emergency response procedures when necessary
Customer & Patient Service
- Ensure patients and visitors receive professional and compassionate service
- Handle patient enquiries and service feedback appropriately
- Foster a supportive and positive therapy environment
Requirements
- Experience in healthcare, rehabilitation, wellness, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or therapy support services preferred
- Supervisory or team leadership experience is an advantage
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to handle patients with care, patience, and professionalism
- Basic knowledge of therapy equipment and patient support techniques
- Physically able to assist with patient mobility and therapy preparation tasks
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or public holidays if required
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in healthcare support, therapy assistance, caregiving, or rehabilitation support
- Knowledge of workplace safety and infection control procedures
- First aid or CPR certification is an advantage
