  • Govern high‑severity incidents, root cause analysis, and remediation.
  • Define and oversee backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high availability strategies.
  • Ensure 24x7 support, clear escalation models, and audit‑ready operations.

Automation, DevOps & Platform Engineering

  • Drive an automation-first operating model using scripting, orchestration, and IaC.
  • Enable Database DevOps / DataOps practices, including CI/CD for database changes.
  • Partner with tooling teams to deliver automated provisioning, monitoring, and self-healing capabilities.

Modernisation, Cloud & AIOps

  • Lead database modernisation initiatives, including upgrades, platform refreshes, and cloud / hybrid adoption.
  • Define and execute near- and long-term database platform roadmaps.
  • Champion AI-assisted operations (AIOps) to reduce manual effort, MTTR, and operational risk.

Security, Governance & Stakeholder Management

  • Ensure compliance with security, risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Own database hardening, encryption, access controls, and audit readiness.
  • Act as the senior stakeholder for database platform health, risks, and strategy.
  • Manage key vendor relationships, including Oracle.

The Person:

  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in enterprise database roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or platform‑scale role.
  • Deep hands-on expertise in Oracle databases (19c+) and SQL Server, with governance‑level oversight of additional platforms such as PostgreSQL/YugabyteDB, MySQL/MariaDB, and DB2.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and hybrid cloud database architectures, including enterprise-scale workloads.
