Key Responsibilities:
1. Tax Compliance Management
- Assist the Tax Manager in managing tax compliance matters for the Group of Companies.
- Prepare and review provisional tax computations for the purpose of tax estimate submissions.
- Oversee timely and accurate corporate tax filings.
2. Development of Tax Tools
- Support the development and implementation of in-house tax computation templates to streamline tax processes and ensure accuracy.
3. Tax Audit and Investigation Support
- Assist in tax audit and investigation exercises, including compiling, reviewing, and organizing documentation for submission to tax agents and authorities.
- Ensure timely and proper responses to tax authorities’ queries and information requests.
4. Tax Knowledge Management
- Maintain an up-to-date in-house tax reference library by monitoring changes in tax laws, public rulings, and legislation.
- Conduct research and provide analysis on new tax developments that may impact the business.
5. Stakeholder Engagement
- Maintain professional relationships with external consultants, auditors, and relevant tax authorities to support tax operations.
6. Ad-hoc Support
- Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Tax Manager or senior management from time to time.
Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required. Professional qualifications such as ACCA, CPA, or ICAEW are preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 3 years relevant experience in corporate income tax.
- Prior experience in Big 4 or Mid-Tier accounting firms or a well-established group of companies is highly desirable.
- Exposure to the property development and construction industry is an added advantage.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax regulations and corporate tax requirements
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented and meticulous in documentation and review
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple compliance requirements with minimal supervision
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluent in both English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and spoken
- Candidates should be willing and able to commute to Petaling Jaya, Selangor.
