Job Description

Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking a committed, detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Intern to join our accounting team. This role offers hands-on exposure to financial reporting, period-end closing, audit preparation, and process improvement within a fast-paced commodity trading environment.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

Financial Reporting & Closing

  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with IFRS.
  • Support reconciliation of key general ledger accounts and transaction postings.
  • Help compile management reporting packs for internal stakeholders.
  • Contribute to journal entries, accruals, and adjustments during month-end and year-end close.

Audit & Compliance

  • Support external and internal audit processes by preparing schedules, reconciliations, and audit documentation.
  • Draft and maintain accounting memos documenting key judgments, policies, and treatments.
  • Ensure financial records are properly maintained and aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Tax & Regulatory Reporting

  • Support the preparation of corporate tax computations in line with local tax laws and regulations.
  • Review GST balances to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of GST returns, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.

Expense Review & Process Management

  • Review and validate Concur invoice reports for accuracy.
  • Document end-to-end trade process flows for accounting and operational reference.
  • Support process improvement initiatives, including automation of reporting and reconciliations using Excel macros/VBA.

Requirements: education, competencies & skills

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in accounting.
  • Understanding of accounting principles and IFRS.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., Excel macros/VBA) preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently, proactively find solutions, and take ownership of assigned tasks.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
  • Eagerness to learn about the commodity trading industry.


This is a full-time internship offering a comprehensive learning experience throughout the programme.
