Role: EHS Manager
Project: Hyperscale Data Center – Shah Alam, Selangor
Contract Type: 1-year renewable
Reporting To: Senior Project Manager / Project Director
Location: Puncak Alam, Shah Alam / Port Dickson
Role Summary
The EHS Manager will lead and manage all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) activities for the hyperscale data center project. The role ensures compliance with statutory requirements, client standards, and corporate safety policies, while fostering a proactive safety culture across the project. The EHS Manager will oversee site supervisors, coordinate with contractors and internal teams, and provide guidance to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage the project EHS team, including EHS supervisors and coordinators.
- Develop and implement the EHS management plan, policies, procedures, and programs in line with statutory and client requirements.
- Provide leadership and training to project personnel to promote a proactive safety culture.
Site Safety Oversight & Compliance
- Monitor and enforce safety, health, and environmental compliance on site.
- Conduct regular inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Review and approve method statements, risk assessments, and safety plans prepared by contractors.
- Ensure timely reporting and proper closure of incidents, near-misses, and non-conformances.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure alignment on safety expectations and regulatory compliance.
- Attend project meetings, providing EHS input and recommendations.
- Coordinate with authorities and support external inspections or audits as required.
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare and present weekly/monthly EHS performance reports to the Project Manager and senior management.
- Maintain EHS records, inspection reports, incident reports, and audit documentation.
- Support project handover by providing all EHS documentation and ensuring compliance records are complete.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions to improve site safety performance.
- Drive initiatives for continuous improvement in safety culture, procedures, and performance metrics.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in mission-critical projects (data center, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, or similar) is advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of local statutory EHS regulations and international safety standards.
- Proven leadership experience managing EHS teams on medium to large-scale construction projects.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Malaysian nationals preferred; candidates with valid work rights in Malaysia encouraged.
- ≤2 months’ notice period preferred.
- Medically fit to work on active construction sites.
