Company Overview

OneCredit is Malaysia's newest Credit Bureau registered under the Ministry of Finance.

We compile and maintain individual and business credit information to generate insights to help businesses and consumers manage risk, make informed decisions, and achieve financial goals.

Beyond that, we are an information services and technology company specialising in big data analytics to support decision making in government, business, and finance.

Job Description

We're looking for a Sr Product Designer (Mobile) to join us in shaking things up. This role isn't just about pushing pixels. You'll have the chance to take on industry giants and rethink how products can truly serve users in a space where design often takes a back seat. You'll help define how design shows up in our culture, shape scalable processes, and raise the bar for design maturity across the company.

This role is mobile-first. You'll be designing native experiences across iOS and Android, and you should have a strong grasp of how interaction patterns, gestures, and platform conventions differ between the two. We're looking for someone who designs with the realities of touch-based interaction in mind, not someone who treats mobile as a scaled-down web experience.

This is not a narrowly defined design role. You will often find yourself thinking like a product manager, identifying problems worth solving, challenging assumptions, and helping the team navigate ambiguity when direction is unclear. In many cases, you'll be expected to take the lead in shaping the product experience end to end, especially where ownership is fuzzy or still evolving.

What You'll Do

You'll be involved early in the product development process, working closely with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to shape ideas from concept to execution. Design here is not an afterthought. It is the link between user needs, business goals, and technical implementation.

Your impact will go beyond UI and UX. You'll help shape a cohesive design language that touches everything from our product interfaces to how we communicate and engage with customers across channels. We are looking for someone who thinks holistically about systems, user experience, and visual storytelling. Someone who questions assumptions, pushes for clarity, and believes design is a tool for solving real problems.

You won't just follow a roadmap, you'll help define it. We value designers who can spot gaps, reframe problems, and advocate for a better path forward, even if it means challenging the status quo.

Key Roles
  • Lead end-to-end UI and UX design for our mobile products, from early wireframes to high-fidelity prototypes
  • Design with platform fluency, understanding when to follow iOS Human Interface Guidelines, when to apply Material Design principles, and when to diverge with intent
  • Own and evolve our mobile design system, working at every level from atomic elements to blocks, patterns, and templates
  • Maintain design and code parity for the design system, partnering directly with engineers to ensure components ship as designed. The source of truth doesn't have to live in Figma, but it must stay in sync
  • Build and test rapid prototypes to validate ideas and quickly iterate based on feedback
  • Conduct user research, customer interviews, and usability tests to uncover insights and inform design decisions
  • Define and track design metrics to measure product impact
  • Document research findings, design decisions, and product enhancements clearly for cross-functional teams
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders to align on solutions
  • Fill gaps in product thinking where needed, contribute to strategy, and drive product clarity through design
  • Advocate for user value and long-term thinking at every stage of product development
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Design, HCI, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience in product design with a strong portfolio of shipped mobile work
  • Deep understanding of touch-based interaction design, including gesture patterns, thumb zones, hit targets, haptics, and motion
  • Strong grasp of native mobile frontend conventions, with the ability to articulate how and why interactions differ between iOS and Android (Material)
  • Proven experience building or maintaining a design system structured around atomic principles (atoms, molecules, blocks, templates)
  • Experience managing design system parity between design files and shipped code, in close collaboration with engineering
  • Proficient in tools like Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar
  • Experience with user research, usability testing, and iterative, data-informed design
  • Strong documentation habits using tools like Notion or Confluence
  • Ability to balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints
  • Clear communication skills and confidence in presenting and defending design decisions
  • Experience working in a fast-paced Agile or Scrum environment, particularly in fintech, SaaS, or ecommerce
  • Understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices, especially mobile accessibility (VoiceOver, TalkBack, dynamic type)
Bonus Points
  • Strong sense of visual and interaction design taste
  • Experience shipping native iOS or Android apps at scale
  • Familiarity with mobile-specific prototyping for gesture and motion (Origami, ProtoPie, Principle, or similar)
  • Working knowledge of UI animation tools such as Lottie or Rive
  • Experience using image generation tools like Midjourney to explore visual directions and support early-stage design ideation
  • Comfortable leveraging AI writing assistants such as GPT, Claude, or Perplexity to define research goals, frame problems, draft PRDs, and articulate product strategies
  • Familiar with AI-powered tools like Figma Make, Google Stitch, Cursor, Lovable, or Bolt to accelerate prototyping, streamline development handoff, and experiment quickly
  • Systems thinker with experience extending design beyond UI to influence brand, storytelling, and customer experience
What We Value

If you are naturally curious, ask thoughtful questions, and are eager to take on a design role that goes beyond the typical scope, we want to hear from you. Even if you don't meet every single requirement, your passion and care for the users matters more.

How to Apply

Please include your résumé, portfolio, and at least 2/3 case studies that clearly showcase your process and impact. Each case study should highlight:

  • The problem you were solving
  • Your specific role and responsibilities
  • The approach you took (research, design decisions, iterations)
  • The outcome or measurable impact

We're especially interested in how you think, how you work across teams, and how you've challenged the status quo in past projects. Mobile-focused case studies are strongly preferred.

Interview Process

You'll be given a vibecode challenge: a real product problem to take from idea to working prototype using the tools of your choice (Figma Make, Cursor, Lovable, Bolt, Claude, v0, or whatever you reach for). We're less interested in polished pixels and more interested in how you think, how you scope, how you make tradeoffs under time pressure, and how fluently you move between design and code.

You'll walk us through your process, your decisions, and what you'd do differently with more time. Expect a conversation, not an interrogation.
