Role Overview
You will be responsible for the end‑to‑end operational management of the Group’s vessels (owned and chartered‑in), ensuring safe, efficient, and commercially optimized voyages.
This is a hands‑on role requiring strong coordination with internal teams, ship managers, agents, terminals, and counterparties.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize daily operations of all Group vessels
- Monitor vessel movements, ETAs, voyage progress, and operational performance
- Prepare and issue voyage orders and manage voyage execution
- Optimize cargo loadable and review stowage plans (single and multi‑grade cargoes)
- Liaise with agents and terminals to meet port requirements and ensure fast turnaround
- Negotiate agency fees and manage port disbursements (PDA and final DA)
- Manage bunker requirements, negotiate stem terms, and monitor fuel performance
- Ensure timely preparation and issuance of freight invoices
- Review and ensure accuracy of Bills of Lading, LOIs, and shipping documents
- Monitor L/C status and ensure required LOIs are secured prior to cargo release
- Perform post‑fixture calculations and voyage performance analysis
- Support traders with port intelligence, data collation, and shipment planning
- Track vessel performance, including TC vessels and performance claims
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with port authorities and counterparts
- Handle ad‑hoc operational tasks as required
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Shipping, Logistics, Commerce, or related fields
- Relevant shipping operations experience
- (Palm oil, tanker, or chemical cargo experience preferred)
- Solid working knowledge of shipping operations and documentation
- Familiarity with Shipnet, IMOS, or other voyage management systems
- Strong problem‑solving, numerical, and commercial acumen
- Good communication skills with the ability to work across stakeholders
- Results‑driven, proactive, and performance‑oriented mindset
