Role Purpose
The Head of LCL Ocean Freight – ASPAC is responsible for building, structuring, and scaling Clasquin’s LCL network across Asia Pacific, ensuring:
Strong and consistent profitability per consolidation
Network alignment between origin and destination offices
Standardized operating and pricing models
Disciplined governance across all LCL flows
This role is both strategic and operational, acting as the owner of the ASPAC LCL product, with full responsibility for performance, structure, and growth quality.
Key Responsibilities
1. LCL Network Strategy & Development
Define and implement the ASPAC LCL strategy
Design and optimize:
Trade lanes (intra-Asia, Asia ↔ Europe, Asia ↔ US)
Consolidation structure (direct vs hub-based)
Identify priority lanes for:
Volume growth
Margin expansion
Drive development of competitive and scalable consol programs
2. Consolidation Profitability & P&L Ownership
Ensure systematic P&L tracking per consolidation (CFS-CFS model)
· Monitor:
Revenue per CBM
Cost per CBM
Contribution per shipment / container
Identify underperforming lanes and define corrective actions:
Repricing
Rerouting
Carrier renegotiation
Drive margin discipline across all stations
3. Procurement & Carrier Strategy
Lead regional LCL carrier procurement strategy
Negotiate and manage:
Ocean freight contracts (coloaders)
Space allocation agreements (FCL)
Ensure optimal balance between:
Contracted capacity
Spot opportunities
Align procurement with:
Volume forecasts
Commercial Pricing Strategy
4. Pricing Governance & Commercial Alignment
Establish and enforce pricing rules for LCL products
Define:
Minimum contribution thresholds
Yield targets per lane
Ensure alignment between:
Origin offices
Destination offices
Support sales teams with:
Competitive but disciplined pricing structures
Eliminate ad-hoc pricing and margin leakage
5. Origin / Destination Alignment
Implement clear inter-office collaboration models
Define:
Revenue split mechanisms
Internal transfer pricing logic (if applicable)
Resolve disputes between origin and destination
Promote “one consolidation, one economic logic”
6. Operational Excellence & Standardization
Standardize:
Consol planning processes
CFS operations coordination
Documentation flows
Ensure consistency in:
Service levels
Lead times
Cost structure
Drive continuous improvement in:
Load factors
Fill rates
Frequency optimization
7. Team Leadership & Governance
Functionally lead country LCL managers / product teams
Establish:
Monthly LCL performance reviews
Regional governance forums
Develop talent and build LCL product expertise across ASPAC
Key KPIs
You will measure performance on quality of growth, not volume only:
Contribution per CBM
Gross profit per consolidation
Load factor / container fill rate
Buy vs sell variance
% of profitable consolidations
Volume growth on strategic lanes
Carrier/Coloader cost optimization
Profile & Experience
Required experience
8–15 years in Ocean Freight / LCL product management
Strong experience in:
LCL consolidation operations
Ocean freight procurement
Regional network management
Proven track record in:
Improving profitability
Structuring trade lanes
Leading multi-country teams
