Responsibilities

The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's databases, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role is essential in supporting the Transport & Distribution industry by delivering robust database solutions in Kuala lumpur.

Description

  • Manage and maintain database systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and implement database backup and recovery strategies.
  • Ensure data security by managing user access and implementing security measures.
  • Collaborate with the Technology department to optimize database designs and queries.
  • Perform regular database updates, patches, and upgrades.
  • Create detailed documentation for database configurations and processes.
  • Support system integration and provide technical expertise for database-related projects.

Profile

A successful Database Administrator should have:

  • A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in database management systems such as Exadata, MySQL, SQL Server, DB2 or Oracle.
  • Understanding of ITSM processes and change management
  • Familiarity with scripting tools (PowerShell, Bash, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery procedures.
  • Familiarity with database optimization techniques and performance tuning.
