Job Scope
- To connect with identified students on a regular basis over a prolonged duration (approximately 6 months), build positive relationships and contribute to the holistic development of the students.
- To provide academic and/or socio-emotional support during curriculum hours if students are unable to integrate back to class or catch up due to absences.
- To conduct house visits and ferry identified students to school if student is absent from school for more than 3 days, without valid reasons (more details will be shared upon award).
- To plan and conduct intervention programmes customise to students’ needs and aligned to the school’s efforts in character development after school on Tuesdays, which include but not limited to:
1. Academic support programme
2. Mentoring programme
3. Engagement programme
- To observe/identify and document the key needs of the students and to report such cases to the Year Heads / Assistant Year Heads overseeing programme and School Leaders for further intervention and support
- To provide feedback on students’ needs, programme experience and concerns, so that the school can better support the students.
- To conduct review of the engagement programme at the end of each term and recommend improvements for future implementation.
- To conduct themselves professionally in their interactions with the students and school personnel, and work with Year Heads / Assistant Year Heads in supporting the students.
- To practise the areas of responsibilities and behaviour during all of his or her school engagements
Requirements
- Youth Workers are required to be registered social workers or registered social work practitioner with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW).
- Youth Workers shall have at least 2 years of experience, preferably in school social work and has practised in school. Prior social work experience working with children and youth in the community settings will also be considered.
- Provide their track record in providing social work- related services from 01 Jan 2023
Contract Duration: From 29 June to 27 November 2026.
Working Arrangement
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
- Tuesdays: 8:00am to 5:00pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
- Wednesdays: 8:00am to 2:30pm, inclusive of 1hr lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
- Service not required during the School Holiday periods (1 Jun to 26 Jun, 7 to 11 Sept 2026, 28 Nov to 31 Dec 2026)

Salary: $2,200 to $2,600 per month
