Job Description:
Lead and manage audit engagements subject to PCAOB standards. Oversees the planning, execution, and completion of audits for public companies, ensuring compliance with PCAOB regulations, SEC requirements, and firm policies. Required to have strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills and a commitment to audit quality.
Engagement Management:
- Lead multiple concurrent PCAOB audits.
- Manage audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases.
- Ensure audit work meets PCAOB standards and internal quality control requirements.
Client Service:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during engagements.
- Develop strong working relationships with client management and audit committees.
- Provide value-added recommendations to improve client processes and internal controls.
Team Leadership:
- Supervise and mentor audit staff and managers.
- Review audit workpapers and reports for technical accuracy and quality.
- Provide coaching and conduct performance evaluations.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay current with PCAOB auditing standards, SEC regulations, and accounting standards (US GAAP).
- Research and resolve complex accounting and auditing issues.
- Contribute to internal training and knowledge sharing.
Risk Management & Quality Control:
- Ensure audit work is properly documented, supports audit opinions, and passes internal/external inspections.
- Participate in firm-level quality initiatives and peer reviews.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 8 years and above of external audit experience
- Experience leading multiple audit engagements simultaneously
- Ability to review and resolve complex accounting/audit issues
- Experience supervising and mentoring audit teams
- Strong client management and communication skills
- Experience reviewing audit workpapers and financial statements
- Ability to ensure compliance with PCAOB and firm quality standards
- Familiarity with PCAOB inspections and peer reviews
- Strong project management and leadership skills
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Big 4 or international accounting firm experience is usually preferred
- CPA qualification preferred (ACCA may also be accepted) is added advantage
