Job Description

Responsibilities

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Advise Perbadanan Putrajaya on Safety & Health Matters

- Provide advice on measures to ensure the safety, health, and welfare of workers.

- Ensure compliance with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967 and other relevant regulations, standards and Perbadanan Putrajaya Policies.

2. Inspect the Workplace

- Regularly inspect the workplace and equipment to identify hazards and risks.

- Recommend corrective action to eliminate or minimize hazards.

- To maintain up to date knowledge of current and new legislative requirements, relating to health and safety issues, in order to interpret, evaluate and advise client on the implications of such legislation on service delivery.

- Conduct regular inspections of the site to identify and address potential hazards.

3. Investigate Accidents and Incidents

- Investigate workplace accidents, dangerous occurrences, and occupational diseases to evaluate how safety measures can be improved.

- Prepare and submit investigation reports to management and authorities.

4. Promote Safety &. Health Awareness

- Develop, organize and conduct safety programs and health training, briefing, and campaigns.

- Promote a positive safety culture among employees.

- Providing safety training and education to employees.

- Developing and delivering safety communications.

5. Maintain Safety & Health Records

- Prepare and consistently update the Occupational Safety and Health file complete with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment and Risk Control (HIRARC), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and Permit to Work (PTW).

- Keep proper documentation such as inspection reports, accident reports, and safety training records.

- Medical Report (fit to work)

6. Liaise with Authorities

- Act as a liaison between the company and enforcement agencies like Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH).

7. Monitor Compliance

- Ensure all work practices comply with OSHA 1994, FMA 1967, and Perbadanan Putrajaya (PPj) Safety Policies.

8. Conduct Risk Assessments

- Identify potential hazards and assess risk.

- Recommend risk control measures (HIRARC- Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control).

9. Participate in Safety Committees

- Serve as secretary or advisor to the Safety and Health Committee.

- Prepare minutes and follow-up on decisions made.

10. Emergency Preparedness

- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency response plans.

- Creating plans for the clients to implementation of emergency response plans.

- Creating plans for the clients to implement in order to avoid breaking health and safety laws.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Attended and passed Safety and Health Officer (SHO) / Site Safety Supervisor (SSS) Course from a training provider accredited by Department of Occupational Safety &. Health (DOSH) or Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB)

2. Possess relevant certification: Green Book for SHO or Yellow Book or SSS registration Card recognizing the person as certified SHO or SSS;

3. BOWEC Regulations Construction Safety Management, Hazard Identification;

4. Risk Assessment & Risk Control (HIRARC);

5. Scaffolding Safety;

5. Working at Height Safety, Crane &. Lifting Safety;

6. Confined Space;

7. Awareness, Accident investigation and Safety Reports &. Documentation;

8. Proficient in MS Office; Working knowledge of safety management information system is a plus;

9. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and explain health and safety topics;

10. Good communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,000.00 per month
