Responsibilities

The company is founded in 2008 and is a local and well-established company which providing secretarial, advisory and management services. Their client base of public listed companies, private companies and multi-national corporations come from great variety of industries including manufacturing, property development, professionals, engineering and construction, consumer goods, timber industry, printing and publishing and etc.

Fully in office; Mon - Fri, 9am - 6pm


Job Responsibilities

AML/CFT Compliance Management

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s AML/CFT compliance framework, policies, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with AMLA 2001, BNM guidelines, and other relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Regularly review and enhance internal compliance controls and risk management measures.


Customer Due Diligence (CDD) & KYC

  • Oversee Know-Your-Customer (KYC), Customer Due Diligence (CDD), and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) processes.
  • Review customer onboarding documentation and risk profiling.
  • Ensure proper screening against sanctions, watchlists, and politically exposed persons (PEP) databases.


Transaction Monitoring & Reporting

  • Monitor and assess customer transactions and activities for suspicious behavior or potential financial crime risks.
  • Investigate suspicious transactions and prepare Suspicious Transaction Reports (STR) for submission to Bank Negara Malaysia where required.
  • Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for compliance reviews and investigations.


Regulatory Liaison

  • Serve as the primary point of contact with Bank Negara Malaysia and other regulatory bodies on compliance-related matters.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory reports within stipulated timelines.
  • Coordinate internal and external compliance audits and regulatory inspections.


Risk Assessment & Advisory

  • Conduct AML/CFT risk assessments across business operations, products, services, and customer segments.
  • Advise senior management and business units on compliance risks and regulatory developments.
  • Recommend corrective actions and process improvements where gaps are identified.


Training & Awareness

  • Develop and conduct AML/CFT compliance training and awareness programs for employees.
  • Ensure staff are updated on internal policies, reporting channels, and regulatory obligations.


Governance & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate compliance records, registers, and documentation.
  • Ensure confidentiality and integrity of compliance-related information.
  • Support the implementation of compliance governance initiatives and best practices.


Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, Risk Management, or related disciplines.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in AML/CFT compliance, risk management, audit, or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience within corporate services, financial services, banking, fintech, trust, or professional services environments is preferred.
  • Exposure to Bank Negara Malaysia regulatory requirements and AMLA compliance is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of AMLA 2001, AML/CFT regulations, and BNM guidelines.
  • Knowledge of KYC, CDD, EDD, sanctions screening, and suspicious transaction monitoring.
