POSITION OVERVIEW

This quality internship offers three positions: Document Control, Lab Testing and Quality Control. Interns will support food safety systems, microbiological testing, document management, product quality control and halal compliance. Gain hands-on experience in a certified food manufacturing environment while assisting QA executives with audits, trend analysis, and regulatory documentation.

Established in 1987 and acquired by Johnsonville in 2020, we offer over 100 halal products and serves foodservice clients across Southeast Asia.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Document Control - 1 position)

• To assist Food Technologist to prepare media for internal lab and environmental monitoring testing usage.
• Conduct microbiology testing on finished goods, raw material and other requested samples.
• Perform sampling of environmental monitoring for internal laboratory test.
• Conduct microbiological testing on environmental monitoring; food contact surface (according to zoning), workers’ hygiene; including staff hand washing test, laundry, safety boots, air monitoring, water and ice test.
• Cleaning, sterilizing, and calibrating laboratory equipment accordingly.
• Maintain Good laboratory practice (GLP) and housekeeping to ensure laboratories are in good working order.
• To assist Food Technologist to conduct trend analysis for environmental monitoring for data interpretation as per FSSC guidelines.
• To assist Food Technologist to perform Proficiency Testing (PT) annually to ensure competency level is maintained.
• To perform any other assigned duties from time to time.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Lab - 1 position)

• To update or make necessary changes on product specification, process flow chart, quality assurance programs (QAP) and other related documents which are required in food safety and quality system audit.
• To update and make necessary changes on all level of documents including manual, procedures, supporting documents, work instruction, etc (MS1514, MS1480 and FSSC).
• Responsible for document control including distribution, retrieval, storage and disposition.
• Establish and update all related documents for new/existing products such as product specification, process flow chart, HACCP plan, product label etc.
• To assist QA Executive in preparing documents such as official letters, product listing, product specification, export documentation for export market access approval.
• To assist HALAL Executive in preparing documents for submission of new product, renewal application and update or make necessary changes on HAS file.
• To assist QA Executive and QA admin in training of new food safety & quality audit requirements for operation team.
• To assist QA Executive in coordinating all external or internal audits process to run smoothly.
• To assist QC Assistant to collect data and samples for validation study.
• To perform any other assigned duties from time to time.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Quality Control - 1 position)

• Perform relevant physical analysis or any other evaluation of raw materials, in line products and finished products.
• Conduct verification on Metal Detector. Assist Quality on recording and documenting the verification form.
• Maintain a proper record system on all tested samples for easy retrieval, avoid unintended use and dispose at correct shelf life.
• Daily check the cleanliness of production areas, machines and equipment. Conduct re-inspection on the cleanliness if Swab test/ ATP test failed.
• Assist in investigation on any internal/audit non-conformances or external customer complaint as per instruction by PIC from Quality department.
• Assist the implementation of Good Manufacturing Practices in the plant.
• Report any non-conformance in matter related to food safety and quality systems.
• To perform any other assigned duties from time to time.

REQUIREMENTS

• Currently pursuing a degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Food Service or a related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office application.
