We are looking for a passionate, student-centric Part-Time Tuition Teacher to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for teaching primary and/or secondary school students in English, Mathematics, and Science. Your primary goal will be to help students build a strong foundational understanding of these subjects, boost their academic confidence, and prepare them effectively for school assessments.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Curriculum Delivery & Teaching
- Conduct engaging, structured, and interactive tuition lessons in English, Mathematics, and/or Science.
- Simplify complex concepts (such as mathematical problem-solving heuristics or scientific inquiry skills) into easily digestible explanations for students.
- Adapt teaching methods and pacing to cater to the diverse learning needs, strengths, and weaknesses of individual students.
2. Student Progress & Assessment
- Assign, mark, and review worksheets, practice papers, and assessments accurately and promptly.
- Identify learning gaps in students and provide targeted guidance, remedial support, and constructive feedback.
- Monitor, track, and document student academic progress and behavioral development over time.
3. Classroom Management & Environment
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and encouraging classroom environment that fosters active participation and a love for learning.
- Manage student behavior effectively during lessons using positive reinforcement techniques.
4. Stakeholder Communication
- Provide regular, constructive updates to parents regarding their child’s academic performance, areas of improvement, and classroom behavior.
- Collaborate with the center management team to align on teaching schedules, curriculum resources, and student updates.
Job Requirements
- Qualifications: Minimum of an A-Level, Diploma, or Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Mathematics, Science, English, or a related discipline. (Undergraduates with strong academic track records are welcome to apply).
- Subject Proficiency: Strong familiarity with the current MOE (Ministry of Education) syllabus, curriculum trends, and examination formats (e.g., PSLE or O-Levels).
- Experience: Prior experience in tutoring, relief teaching, or working in a tuition/enrichment center is highly advantageous.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain academic concepts clearly and connect well with young learners.
