Key Responsibilities
- Financial Reporting & Analysis:
- Oversee the preparation of full sets of financial statements, including Profit & Loss and monthly closing reports.
- Analyze monthly results to ensure accuracy, making necessary accruals and adjustments.
- Lead the preparation and execution of the Group’s Annual Report and monthly consolidated financial statements.
- Stakeholder Management & Compliance:
- Act as the key liaison between the Group and subsidiary finance teams to ensure timely submission of financial data (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Coordinate externally with bankers, company secretaries, tax agents, and auditors to facilitate the finalization of financial statements and statutory reporting.
- Ensure strict compliance with local statutory requirements across different countries of operation.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Tax:
- Drive the Group’s budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Conduct periodic tax planning and highlight budgetary control measures to Management.
- Manage group tax planning strategies effectively.
- Cash & Treasury Management:
- Manage cash investments and cash flow planning to ensure the availability of funds.
- Prepare weekly cash management reports.
- Verify and authorize payments, including cheques, telegraphic transfers, bank drafts, and petty cash.
- Internal Controls:
- Maintain robust accounting internal controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Job Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting or a related field. Professional qualifications (CIMA, ACCA, ICAEW, CPA or equivalent) are highly advantageous.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
- Regulatory Knowledge:
- Strong familiarity with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements, specifically regarding quarterly and annual financial reporting obligations.
- Knowledge of local statutory requirements for various countries (where applicable).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in the consolidation of group accounts.
- Solid understanding of treasury and fund management matters, including bonds, Share Buy-Back (SBB), IPO proceeds utilization, and related corporate exercises.
- Personal Attributes:
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight reporting deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with both internal teams and external parties
