Assistant Tax Manager

About the Role:


We are seeking a motivated and experienced Assistant Tax Manager to join our growing team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In this role, you will play a key part in providing tax compliance and advisory services to a diverse range of clients. You will work closely with Tax Managers, Seniors, and Associates to ensure timely and accurate delivery of high-quality work.


Responsibilities:


  • Prepare and file various tax returns (e.g., corporate income tax, individual income tax, goods and services tax) in accordance with relevant Malaysian tax laws and regulations.

  • Review and analyze tax implications of clients' transactions and advise on tax optimization strategies.

  • Conduct tax research and stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations.

  • Manage and supervise the work of junior tax professionals.

  • Liaise with clients and tax authorities to address inquiries and resolve issues.

  • Prepare tax reports and presentations for clients and management.

  • Assist with tax audits and investigations.

  • Contribute to the development and improvement of the firm's tax practice.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a tax role, preferably within an accounting firm in Malaysia.

  • Strong understanding of Malaysian tax laws and regulations.

  • Proficient in tax software and technology.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English.
