Job Responsibilities :

• Researching and purchasing the right assets (specs, fuel types, engine power) for specific job needs.
• Deciding when an asset is too expensive to maintain and managing its sale or disposal.
• Developing Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules based on mileage (fleet) and engine hours (machinery).
• Coordinating emergency repairs and managing a team of internal mechanics or third-party vendors.
• Managing multi-million dollar budgets for fuel, parts, and insurance.
• Ensuring all vehicles have up-to-date registrations, MOTs, and certifications (e.g., LOLER for lifting equipment).
• Conducting "walk-around" inspections and enforcing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) usage.
• Monitoring GPS and IoT sensors to track fuel theft, idling time, and harsh operator behavior.

Requirements :

• A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, or Business Management is often preferred, though long-term field experience often substitutes for a degree.
• Certifications in diesel mechanics or specific machinery brands (Caterpillar, Komatsu, etc.) are highly valued.
• Experience using software like UpKeep, Samsara, or Fleetio to track work orders.
• Ability to calculate Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ROI.
• Deep understanding of local transport laws (e.g., DOT in the US, DVSA in the UK) and safety standards (OSHA).
• Dealing with equipment dealers and fuel suppliers to get the best rates.
• The ability to prioritize which machine gets repaired first when multiple job sites are screaming for resources.
• Translating technical engine problems into "business impact" for upper management.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
