Principal – Early Childhood Education

Mulberry Learning @ Clarke Quay | Singapore

About Us

Mulberry Learning @ Clarke Quay is a Reggio Emilia-inspired preschool and infant care centre nestled along the Singapore River at The Riverwalk. We offer a distinctive, thoughtfully curated learning environment for children from 2 months to 6 years, underpinned by the Habits of Mind framework, Multiple Intelligences theory, and a strong bilingual programme. Our large, purpose-designed centre reflects our belief that space is the third teacher — and we are looking for a Principal who shares that belief.

The Role

We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and people-centred Principal to lead our centre with vision and operational excellence. As the face and heartbeat of Mulberry Clarke Quay, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of early childhood education while ensuring a warm, welcoming, and well-run centre for children, families, and staff alike.

Key Responsibilities

School Leadership & Administration

  • Oversee day-to-day school administration, ensuring smooth and efficient centre operations
  • Uphold and continuously refine best practices, SOPs, and compliance with ECDA regulations and licensing requirements
  • Maintain accurate documentation, records, and reporting systems

Centre Operations

  • Manage the physical environment, facilities, and vendor relationships to ensure a safe, stimulating, and well-maintained centre
  • Coordinate procurement, resource allocation, and operational logistics

Enrolment & Parent Engagement

  • Lead the enrolment process end-to-end, from school tour to orientation
  • Conduct engaging school tours that reflect the centre's philosophy and convert prospective families into enrolled ones
  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with current and prospective families

Manpower Management

  • Recruit, onboard, supervise, and develop a team of educators and support staff
  • Foster a positive team culture rooted in professional growth, collaboration, and shared values
  • Manage scheduling, leave, and HR-related matters in partnership with the management team

Curriculum & Programme Quality

  • Champion the Reggio Emilia approach and ensure pedagogical best practices are embedded across all classrooms
  • Support teachers in planning, documentation, and reflective practice
  • Oversee enrichment programmes and co-curriculum offerings
  • Ensure that the centre environment is as per HQ directive

Events Planning & Management

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute centre events including parent engagement sessions, open houses, celebrations, and community initiatives
  • Manage event logistics, timelines, and communications from concept to debrief

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood Care & Education (Leadership) or equivalent; a Degree is advantageous
  • ECDA-certified with a valid registration as an early childhood educator
  • At least 3–5 years of relevant experience, with prior leadership or deputy principal experience preferred
  • Strong operational and organisational skills with a meticulous eye for detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — warm, confident, and professional with both families and staff
  • A genuine passion for early childhood education and child-centred learning
  • Experience with Reggio Emilia-inspired or play-based pedagogy is a strong advantage

What We Offer

  • A beautiful, spacious riverside centre with a strong and differentiated programme
  • A collaborative and supportive management team
  • Competitive remuneration commensurate with experience, including enrolment bonus and AWS
  • A meaningful leadership role where your impact is felt every day
