Job Summary:
We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled System Engineer to support both system integration projects and hosting operations. This hybrid role involves designing and implementing infrastructure solutions for clients, managing hosting environments (both physical and virtual), and ensuring high availability and security of hosted services. The ideal candidate should have experience in deploying IT systems, managing data center resources, and providing technical support for both on-premise and cloud-hosted solutions
Key Responsibilities:
1. System Integration Scope
- Deploy and integrate server, storage, and network infrastructure at customer sites.
- Install, configure, and test virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Set up Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and other core services.
- Coordinate implementation of third-party solutions (backup, security, monitoring).
- Perform site readiness assessments and ensure system compatibility.
- Document configuration, system diagrams, and deployment SOPs.
- Collaborate with project managers and solution architects during delivery.
2. Hosting & Data Center Scope
- Manage physical and virtual infrastructure in data center/hosting environments.
- Provision and maintain VMs, storage volumes, and network configurations.
- Monitor and maintain system uptime, resource usage, and security compliance.
- Apply system patches, firmware updates, and software upgrades.
- Implement and manage backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Respond to incidents and support requests related to hosted services (Level 2/3).
- Support client onboarding for VPS, dedicated servers, private cloud, and hybrid environments.
- Maintain asset inventory, server lifecycle, and resource capacity planning.
Technical Skills Required:
- Proficient with:
- Windows Server / Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
- VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter / Hyper-V / Proxmox
- Active Directory, GPO, File Services
- Networking basics (VLAN, firewall, routing)
- Backup tools (Veeam, Acronis, etc.)
- Monitoring tools (PRTG, Zabbix, Grafana)
- Cloud platforms (optional): AWS, Azure, or private cloud stacks (OpenStack)
- Scripting or automation (PowerShell, Bash, Ansible) is an advantage.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Diploma or Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in system integration, hosting operations, or infrastructure support.
- Fluent in Bahasa Malaysia and able to communicate in English
- Preferred certifications:
- VMware VCP / Microsoft MCSA/MCSE / CompTIA Server+ / Linux+
- Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure) are a plus
Soft Skills:
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability.
- Good communication skills for dealing with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and project timelines.
- Willing to travel to customer sites for deployments.
- Able to work during off-hours or weekends during maintenance windows or outages.
Working Conditions:
- Office, data center, and customer site environments.
- May involve standby/on-call support rotation.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend deployments.
